A little boredom side project....

Micro Engineering N scale Gas Station. This is the complete kit. I've had it for awhile, figured I'd build it for the fun of it.

Well..

So I got six modules built. They are the curves for a show layout. Basically they are 9x16 inch boxes, made from 1/4 pine boards and some 1/4 ply. Nothing fancy or expensive. They have leveling feet on them so I can adjust for bad table tops or what have you.

Next step is roadbed and track. Started working on that last night.

First turnout I've made in over 15 years. It's ugly but it'll do. I need two rights and a wye. After that we should be good.

New shop area..

Same closet, more room...

Here I have a bench and paint booth. Nice, but a little cramped. I also do woodworking in the same room and have my desk for my computer. I need either a bigger room, or better space management.

I went with space management. By getting rid of the computer desk, which acted as a catch all for everything, I gained a wall back for tool cabinets and whatnot. The paint booth now sits just to the left of the closet, and the PC now resides in here. The corner shelf holds the monitor and the few things I needed for my desk I was always looking for.

Yes, that's a dog in the picture. A Great Pyranees, he's 7 months old in this picture.

Next will be a small shelf unit to put some loose items in and a kit box on top of. Also a rack to go on the right of this picture for paints. More photos later..
