New shop area..

Same closet, more room...

Here I have a bench and paint booth. Nice, but a little cramped. I also do woodworking in the same room and have my desk for my computer. I need either a bigger room, or better space management.

I went with space management. By getting rid of the computer desk, which acted as a catch all for everything, I gained a wall back for tool cabinets and whatnot. The paint booth now sits just to the left of the closet, and the PC now resides in here. The corner shelf holds the monitor and the few things I needed for my desk I was always looking for.

Yes, that's a dog in the picture. A Great Pyranees, he's 7 months old in this picture.

Next will be a small shelf unit to put some loose items in and a kit box on top of. Also a rack to go on the right of this picture for paints. More photos later..

Time for a little fun...

I've had this floating around for a little while..

Now to have a little fun with it..

Little things...

Decided to rearrange my shop today. I needed a bigger work area. So in the process of cleaning, I can across these little beasts....

HOn30 gondolas kitbashed from Bachmann N scale cars.

I guess I'm gonna have to figure out a railroad to run them on...

Working on the logging truck...

A million years ago, when I was building alot of plastic models, I built a model of a logging truck. A few years go by and here I am again..

The cab is the AMT Peterbilt California Hauler.

It's a good kit of a mid-70's truck. The logging part is this..

I'm modeling empty, with the trailer on the truck. So far, here is where I am at..

I've finished the trailer's suspension and all that. Right now the rear parts have been primed, shot with a base rust coat and sprayed with Ammo Scratches effect. Tomorrow they get a white "primer" then more scratches followed by the final finish paint. Then we begin the fun of weathering. That A/C unit on the roof? Chipped and heavy rust.

The goal is to make it look like the many trucks seen on CA 299 hauling logs to the mills on the coast. Well worn but still running.

And then this happens..

Well, I was fine with the idea of an HOn30 layout, until this followed me home this weekend...

Life just got interesting...

The mess in the back is a 1/24th Peterbilt Logging Truck. Pics of that coming soon...

The depot...

Got the Fallberg depot built, painted and some weathering done. Since this is going to be used on a layout in the Caribbean, it needed a more rusty roof to go with it. Next up will need to be a freight shed.
